Scenario: You wake up tomorrow morning to a dark world. Some time during the night, the lights/power went out and they remain out for the foreseeable future. It may have been a solar flare, it might have been an EMP, or it is possible the entire grid went down. Vehicles may or may not work, but you have no power, no internet, to cell phone service.
Questions
1 – What do you do?
2 – What do you have?
3 – What do you prioritize?
4 – What do you NOT have that you need?
5 – Who do you contact? How?
6 – How do you ensure the security, safety, and sustainability of your family? What about those in your network? How do you contact them? How do they contact you?
7 – What are your shortfalls? What do you need to do to have all you need for long-term power outages?
8 – How can you assist those in your network? How can they assist you? What should your network do to prepare for such a scenario?
Think on it. I will. Imagining you woke up to this scenario really opens your eyes.”

Your post here is a hard truth. To ponder waking up to dark focuses the reality. I have weapons and amo. I have a Propane Generator and a moderate amt of propane. i have a good supply of food and water. But I doubt if I can f
defend my place alone. I'm outside of a small college town but not rural enough. I don't have a network, so I'm screwed. Unless I can gather my neighbors quickly into a network so we can work together to defend ourselves. Could be a pretty big ask.
