I am reminded of a Confederate Calvary company travelling unopposed through Gettysburg, PA. in late 1864, just a little over a year after the 3 day battle there in July of 1863.

It didn't matter anymore, it was irrelevant, no one cared, the war had "Moved On" and would be over in less than 6 months. Visiting old battlefields don't neccesarily win future wars.

What this portends for 2023 is beyond my comprehension. i do wish us all well.

The U.S. leads in this carnage due to its status in this world, and the completely false belief by the citizenry that this is the freest and most ‘democratic,’ and ‘exceptional’ country on earth. It is certainly not anything of the kind. The gradual metamorphosis from what was falsely considered true freedom to a near outright Communist state, was able to remain hidden from most due to massive propaganda, gullibility, gross nationalism, and the notion that it could never happen here.
